Case Study Compliance Review Process
The Case Study Compliance Review is required for all private schools undergoing NHDOE Special Education Program Approval. The NHDOE Program Approval and Improvement Process is a federal monitoring requirement for all states that offers NH private schools an opportunity to:
- Review and assess programs
- Conduct a critical review of student results
- Present and discuss findings with visiting colleagues
- Recommend program improvements
In preparation for the NHDOE visit, teams of general and special educators work together to gather and analyze student work and other relevant information to describe the programs offered and progress made for randomly selected special education students. The process may include a timeline of each student’s educational experiences and services, work samples, IEP, progress reports, assessment information, and any other information that contributes to creating a full picture of the student’s school experience.
The information collected will be presented to a volunteer team of visiting NH educators. In addition, classroom observations will be conducted and interviews will be held with parents, students, school administrators and school board members.
