Job Description

Scope of Work:

Responsible for providing direct instruction and consultative services to deaf or hard-of-hearing students in public schools, pre-school through secondary. The Teacher of the Deaf will work in collaboration with school district personnel and SERESC colleagues to meet student needs as outlined in Individualized Education Plans (IEP’s) and 504 Plans. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: direct instruction, assessment, file reviews, attending IEP/504 meetings, consultation with other service providers and educators, provision of staff training, equipment recommendations and maintenance, assistive technology, maintenance of student records, progress monitoring, and communication with families.

Qualifications:

  • 5 or more years of experience in the field of Deaf Education
  • Hold NH certificate of Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing, or ability to obtain
  • Hold degree(s) from accredited university

Commensurate with education and experience
